Less than one month out and UFC 234 has been finalised with a lightweight contest.
Lando Vannata will face Brazilian debutante Marcos Mariano on the Melbourne card which takes place on February 10 (AU), per Torcedores.
Vannata (9-3-2), a recipient of four performance bonuses in his six UFC fights, has come to be known for his entertaining fight style. “Groovy” last competed at UFC 230 where his contest with Matt Frevola was ruled a majority draw. After becoming a free agent after that fight, he announced earlier this month that he’d re-signed with the UFC for four fights.
Mariano (6-4) enters the UFC coming off a first-round knockout of Alessandro Taiete de Matos. Of his six professional wins, two come by way of knockout and one by submission.
UFC 234 will be held at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, on February 10 (AU). In the main event, middleweight champion Robert Whittaker aims to defend his belt against Kelvin Gastelum.
